Trident Lakes Engages Detwiler Fenton for Project Financing

FANNIN COUNTY, Tx. – Trident Lakes announced today that it has engaged finance industry leader Detwiler Fenton in a “placement agent and advisory services” agreement aimed at helping raise $200 million in capital.

“Upon completion of their due diligence and thorough vetting process, we are extremely proud that Detwiler Fenton has agreed to represent us to the capital markets,” said Trident Lakes’ CEO, Jim O’Connor. “Detwiler Fenton has been a valuable source of knowledge and guidance through the planning and early construction phases, and we look forward to working with them through completion of our dynamic project.”

Detwiler Fenton, the Boston-based financial services firm founded in 1962, will immediately begin the process of identifying capital partners for the continuing construction of Trident Lakes’ $330 million development in North Texas. The early development of Trident Lakes has been funded by a small group of private individuals.

Strong consumer response, fueled by international media attention, led Trident Lakes’ developers back to the drawing board in an effort to most efficiently and effectively design one of the world’s most innovative communities. With an original plan to build 400 Earth-sheltered condominiums, Trident Lakes currently has more than 1,000 names on its waiting list at and has accordingly expanded its design.

“A project of this magnitude poses a lot of complex engineering and capital challenges, and ours have been accelerated due to demand,” said O’Connor. “But now that we have completed most of our engineering and have a firm handle on costs, we can begin finding capital partners. We can now sharpen our focus on developing Trident Lakes into a world-class project that will cater to an untapped segment of the real-estate market.”
